06 - AI is pricey

I've not forgotten about my possible new chrome-extension AI project. The thing is, AI is pricey... Like a lot.

So, last couple of nights, I've been reading and looking for new APIs and options to develop AI projects that could be more accessible pricewise. I'm kind of convincing myself to explore new solutions using AI. It's fun!

The other day I realized I've been using GitHub Copilot to get help, suggestions, etc. while coding (Ai solution that uses uses OpenAI Codex under the hood) for a while now. Maybe a year now? That's a lot. Developers are blessed with this kind of tools and access. For me is a daily thing, but maybe it's 3-5 years or more for the rest to use similar tools on their workflows.

So... back to the point. I think I have some ideas for making things cheaper, but I need to do some more research and testing. I'll keep you posted.

Update: OpenAI just lowered its prices!! That's awesome news! And by a lot. Now prices are like a 1/3 of original pricing. I'll keep an eye on that.

Bye!
